6 Workout Mantras That Mostly Suck | T Nation

Throwing up is either a digestive issue or an excess of systemic/blood lactic acid. When you eat a big meal, around 70% of your blood flow is directed to the digestive system. When you're training, blood is diverted mostly to the working muscle and only around 20-30% makes it to the digestive system. Not to mention that the cortisol released from the workout can also inhibit digestion. If the training is demanding enough this can lead to nausea, gas, bloating and vomiting. Excess lactic acid (systemic, not concentrated in one muscle) can have the same effect.

Tip: Grip Position and Shoulder Mechanics | T Nation

Whether you decide to use a moderate grip or more extreme grip, hand placement shouldn't cause deviations in technique or neuromuscular recruitment. It's also important to point out that although many advanced lifters will strategically alter their body mechanics in conjunction with grip adjustments as a means for targeting different areas of a muscle group, this training philosophy can lead to dysfunctional movement patterns, inflammation, and injury.

No Equipment Home Workouts: Fat Loss Edition

Not every workout needs to occur at a gym, take 60 minutes, or even require any equipment. When I’m on the road, whether for business or pleasure, finding a fitness facility isn’t top priority. Or if I’m at home and tied to my desk, I’m not going to stress about getting dressed and ready to train. But none of those are reasons why I can’t still find a time to sneak in a quick workout. And for someone who is on the road nearly every week, this is a necessity and a realistic approach to prioritizing health.

Squeezing Bench with Legs When Bench Pressing?

Heard some power lifters recommend squeezing the bench when they drive up. mainly recommended it for lifters who like to place their feet directly under their buttocks. one also said it can help strengthen your legs and glutes. Anyone care to elaborate if theres any benefit to this?
