8 Tips for Great Abs

7. The Fountain of Youth : Many people believe that the more water they drink the more they will retain when in fact this is completely backward. The body will retain water when only small amounts are taken in for fear of dehydration. When you are drinking an abundance of water the body will keep flushing it because it has no fear of running out. I recommend three to four liters daily for the weekend warrior and six to eight liters for the hardcore trainers. Remember, less water retention means more definition, which will help expose those great abs you want so badly!

4 Things You Should Always Have in Your Gym Bag

In most commercial gyms this stuff is banned, and for good reason. It gets everywhere. However, chalk can help improve your grip to the bar. When we workout our hands can get moist from sweat. That little bit of moisture can cause you to lose your grip on the barbell or dumbbell. Less grip means less muscle activation. The advantage to using chalk is that it protects your hands from cuts and burns when gripping the barbell. Chalk also dries up the sweat on your hands giving you a better grip. If you decide to use chalk make sure you wipe off the equipment after using. Have proper gym etiquette when using chalk.

A Better Workout for Bigger Forearms

The forearms consist of the wrist flexor, wrist extensor, and brachioradialis muscles. They’re smaller muscles and therefore are designed more for endurance and frequent bouts of work than explosive or heavy movements. They also get plenty of incidental work whenever you grab a bar or dumbbells for any other exercises, or carry groceries home from the store. Or, you can try HRV (such as the product by BioForce), which assesses your heart rate variability and provides biofeedback on your stress levels and recovery. It can indicate what days are best to push hard or back off. It’s new technology that makes it much easier to “listen to your body.”

I met a guy, and we would sneak off at night to ‘play’ where our parents couldn’t see us. I am not a swimmer, but I was brave enough to go out in a rowboat at night so we could be alone. Best move ever. I am 5’2” and he is 6’4”, so I’m still not sure how we managed to have sex without capsizing, but it was perfect. The secret nature of it all—coupled with the danger I felt— made the sex so hot.” —Dana, 22
