Of Arnold’s many accomplishments, this one doesn’t rank particularly high. Still, not only did it allow him to name an exercise after himself—the Arnold Press—it’s a uniquely effective move. The man who wants  bigger triceps  cannot live on pressdowns alone. Too often, we see guys in the gym—and maybe you're one of them—working his triceps to death at the cable pressdown station. Unfortunately, many folks performing the greatest strength training exercise in existence are doing it wrong; let’s take a look at five reasons your deadlift sucks and what you can do to pull yourself out of that rut.

Put Some Polish On Your Front Delts

The deltoids are composed of three heads — front, middle and rear. Shoulder presses build mass on the front and middle delts, but you need a variety of raises to put laser-like focus on each head individually. Most workouts should involve lateral raises for the middle delts and bent-over lateral raises for the rear delts. To put some extra polish on your front delts, a great exercise is barbell front raises. Stand holding a barbell across the front of your thighs with your feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent. Hold the barbell with an overhand grip, with your hands spaced about shoulder-width apart. Lift the bar straight up and out in front of your body until your arms are just past parallel to the floor. Pause for a moment at the top before slowly lowering the bar back to the start.

When you start a new routine, you feel the burn in the first set and by the third, you’re probably struggling to finish. The longer you do the routine, the easier this becomes—until it’s too easy. “During the exercises, you need to feel challenged in order to see results,” Fuentes says. The Top 15 Pushup Variations

Start from the pushup position. Take one hand off the ground and raise it straight up in the air (making a T-shape out of your body). Keep your eyes locked on your raised hand. Repeat for your other side. Add dumbbells to the routine to increase the intensity of the workout. "T-pushups hammer your entire upper body," says Yeung. "Not only are you targeting your chest, but you're also strengthening your shoulders, opening up your thoracic spine [midback], and building rotational power through your core."
