Thibaudeau's Simple Fat Loss Strategies | T Nation

If you aren't going to train hard, and your goal is fat loss, then you don't need "fast fuel" that day. Note that if your goal is to build maximum size, not get lean, I recommend having carbs on off days. But when trying to get lean this is a very simple approach. You don't even need to necessarily count calories, just don't eat any carbs.

Tip: From Block Pull to Deadlift | T Nation

Some lifters may not have the most advantageous limb length (short arms/long torso) or ankle and hip mobility to pull a deadlift from the floor. This may result in an ugly pull or strained back. The block pull will help you build "sticking point" strength and overall safe pulling volume.

The Best Bench Press Tip | T Nation

You need to unrack the bar, then "set it" in the same exact position in which you want to finish. This should be directly above where you lower the bar. If you bench to your lower pecs, then the bar should start above the lower pecs. This will create a straight line both on the eccentric and concentric. You've no doubt been in a situation where a particular cable weight stack just didn't provide enough weight. Most stacks go up to about 95 pounds, which is fine for most lifters when they're doing triceps pushdowns or cable curls, but it might be limiting when you want to do something that requires a heavier load, like cable pull-throughs .

Fourth, the rotational nature of the rope produces both converging and diverging hand positions at different phases of the movement. For instance, during the concentric phase, there's a natural spreading of the hands (towards the sides of the torso) creating a greater squeeze in the upper back in the fully contracted position. In contrast, the eccentric or negative phase pulls the handles closer together in a converging fashion creating additional elongation and stretching of the lats.

For instance, if my best triple back squat done at regular speed and taking advantage of the stretch reflex was 405, but I could only do 335 when using a 4-second negative and pause for the same triple, I'd use 335 as my new gauge. How to Speed Up Muscle Recovery

If you’re feeling pain or tightness post-workout, you can use a long, semi-soft foam tube to give your muscles a massage. “Foam rolling breaks up scar tissue and knotting in your fascia, which—if left unattended—can lead to nagging aches and pains in your joints,” says Gaddour. Spend at least 30-60 seconds minimum rolling your sore muscle groups immediately upon waking, before bed, and any time you can spare during the day—the more, the better.
