Sagittarius Horoscope for Friday, May 8, 2015

Friday, May 8, 2015 - You have a pragmatic attitude toward money today and your incisive thinking all but ensures that you'll make the smartest choices. Nevertheless, your finances may be in need of some serious attention while the Moon hooks up with powerful Pluto in your 2nd House of Material Possessions. Unfortunately, impulse buying could quickly land you in trouble, so think twice before purchasing something you don't even need. The wisest approach to spending now is the most conservative one.

The Ultimate Leg-Training Workout

All bodyparts should be trained from a variety of angles to maximize musclefiber recruitment. This advice becomes even more important with legs since your quads are composed of four different muscles, the hamstrings are made up of three and a slew of fibers “come in from the north, south, east and west” to form your glutes, Peterson says. “It’s not just about squatting and driving up,” he explains. “You can tweak your stance, and you can change where the load is by doing front squats, back squats and one-leg movements. A lot of people just do it by rote or don’t do it at all.”

Top 12 Protein-Filled Foods for Your Physique

Whey protein is one of the two proteins found in dairy products, the other being casein. Whey makes up 20% of the protein found in milk, but it’s the superior protein for muscle building because it’s absorbed quickly and causes a large and fast spike in blood amino-acid levels, which is exactly what you want when your body is looking to repair and build muscle fibers after exercise. Whey protein is rich in both glutamine—the most abundant amino acid in muscle—and branched-chain amino acids, which can fuel working muscles during exercise. One of the best dietary sources of whey protein: ricotta cheese.

16 Greatest Physiques of All Time

In this list, we've narrowed the field to the best of the best. In our opinion, these are the eight greatest bodybuilder and physique competitors and the eight greatest celebrity physiques that we've ever seen. All 16 athletes were once Cinderellas, but now they've taken the spotlight through hard work in and out of the gym. Which physique reigns supreme? That's for you to decide, just

The Big 25

Add the farmer’s walk to your cardio regimen. Hold moderate to heavy dumbbells at your sides with your abs pulled and take long strides, walking until you can no longer grip the dumbbells. Rest 90 seconds each time you fail and then go again, striding for 10-20 minutes total. This gives you the calorie burning of cardio while increasing your grip and core strength.

And now that expertise is available to bodybuilders everywhere thanks to this video series, where Lee Labrada will walk you through the fine art of posing, including tips only a master can provide. Here’s a breakdown:

The Wolverine Workout: 4 Weeks to Shred Like Hugh Jackman

Main lifts are based off a percentage of your 1-rep max (1rm) in that lift, and the percentage changes each week (see the percentage charts to determine what weight you should use). Rest between sets is listed in seconds. Flexibility work such as static stretching and foam rolling should be performed at the end of each session.

12 Foods to Remove from the Fridge Forever

Growing up, your fridge was probably always stocked with staples like milk, cheese, yogurt, pickles, and on and on. Problem is, if you haven't smartened up about the contents of your kitchen, these everyday eats could explain why you can’t seem to drop those last five pounds, or why your doc has suddenly taken an interest in your blood pressure .

6 Moves for a Stronger Neck

Barbell  deadlifts  are great trap and upper-back builders since they recruit the muscles of the entire body and increase the release of natural anabolic hormones, like testosterone. However, to eliminate skinny-neck syndrome and protect against injury you’ll need to add some direct work to target the muscles. Build functional strength, prevent injury, and improve posture to get the most out of training (and life) with this six-move neck workout.

Anti-Intellectualism and the "Dumbing Down" of America

Rolf, China has the worst pollution in the world and China is not capitalistic. Liberals do not believe that capitalism is ruining or destroying the world. Liberals are also not against vaccinations. In your ignorance, which is proving the points made by this article, you are taking beliefs (originally credited to Fox News - not a bastion of liberalism - ) about vaccines and redirecting it to liberals. Also, we don't hate GMOs, we just want to know when they're being force fed to our children. It's a bad, and quite frankly ignorant policy, to speak stereotypically of large groups of people you obviously know nothing about. Liberals are nothing like the small groups of "radicals" presented for your amusement on Fox News. In fact, most liberals are offended by what they see on Fox because it does not factually portray what the majority of liberals believe or want for this country. No more so than MSNBC portrays a realistic example of what Conservatives want. You may find, with a little bit of research, that most Americans do not have their best interest portrayed by the media, which is what this article is discussing.

Before You Sweat: The Perfect Warm-Up Workout

You've sure done a good job at building your body to stand the test of time, but you're not invincible. Trust us, you're not. Getting injured sucks, and from there, the rehab and comeback can be an emotional rollercoaster. Some just never come back the same. But, if you're smart, you don't have to worry about that. Improve mobility, flexibility, and circulation with the perfect warm-up before every single workout. (Yes, it's boring for some, but if you're training hard, you'll also need to train smart.)

Arnold Schwarzenegger On The Roles That Made Him Famous, Funny, And, Finally, A Serious Actor

Schwarzenegger was in his early twenties and fresh off a few Mr. Universe wins when he made his big-screen debut as “Arnold Strong” in this goofy low-budget fantasy in which he played a bored son of Zeus looking for fun in the Big Apple. “My dream was to come to America and to build my bodybuilding career,” the actor said. “Then, when I’m finished, to get into movies.” That second part came together much faster than he’d planned or expected when six months after coming to the U.S., muscle mag publisher Joe Weider called to tell him, “They’re looking for a star in a Hercules movie. I recommended that you were the best.’” Schwarzenegger laughingly recalled that Weider sold him as a “‘German Shakespearean actor’ — there’s no such thing!”

The Best Total Body Cardio Workout

20 Tips to Shed Body Fat for Good

Consuming too many starchy foods, such as potatoes, rice, pasta and breads (especially at one sitting), provides your body with more than it needs for energy and glycogen stores; anything left over will be stored as fat. "You don't have to eliminate starchy carbs completely," says IFBB pro Mike Matarazzo. "But you should really cut back on them when trying to shed body fat." Limit total starch servings per day to 3-5, where a serving size is one cup of pasta, rice or sliced potatoes.

7 Wheel Blasting Leg Workouts

But here’s the thing…if you dedicate yourself to training your legs with zeal, not only will you end up with diced, wide-swept thighs, but a bigger, leaner overall physique. How? Because the muscles in your legs constitute so much of your total body mass, the caloric expenditure as well as the resulting spike in growth hormone and testosterone create an ideal environment for improving your physique.

Build Your Legs

Most guys neglect their legs in favor of more chest and arm workouts. If you want to run down the beach on more than a pair of toothpicks this summer, we’ve got a routine that will bring your legs up fast. HOW TO DO IT CIRCUIT A: Immediately after your second set of the barbell squat (exercise 1), perform the jump squat for 60 seconds.

Lose Weight and Get Ripped with Cheat Meals

Your stomach is rumbling and making weird noises — yes you are hungry and that’s the work of ghrelin right there. This hunger hormone is made and released by the stomach and stimulates your appetite. But how is it controlled? The answer is simple: food regulates ghrelin levels. Levels of the hormone are high before eating and when you’re seriously dropping calories. When you get hit with the hunger pangs, that’s when you know it’s time to eat. Also, you may have read somewhere that high ghrelin levels stimulate the release of human growth hormone (HGH) from the pituitary gland. The fountain of youth hormone helps to burn fat and build muscle — it sounds like a win-win during cutting season. But what you don’t know is that high ghrelin levels promote the storage of fat in the abdominal area—getting a shredded six-pack will be hard. That’s why a cheat meal is a necessity; you’ll reduce your constant hunger and cravings while preventing a "beer belly."

Get Strong: A Guide to Hybrid Lifts

Some exercises were made to work together. Have you ever noticed that the end position of a power clean is the same as the starting position of a front squat? Or that the bottom of a Romanian deadlift sets you up perfectly for a bentover row? We say, go with it: Combining two or more exercises that flow well—called a “hybrid” lift—is a convenient way to work more muscle, burn more fat, and get out of the gym more quickly.

8 Fat-Burning Water Sports That Will Torch Calories All-Summer Long

The wonderful thing about summer is you don’t have to hole up in the gym in order to get a solid workout. And it's also not just about running and cycling —you can grab your buddies, pile in your car, and head to the ocean (or lake) for a day’s worth of fat-burning fun. This infographic from NowSourcing , an infographic Design Agency, and Backyard Ocean  details how many calories a 150-pound man can burn in 60 minutes, plus the health and fitness benefits unique to each water sport. Swimming, for instance, burns 714 calories, lowers cholesterol, and works both your upper and lower body. Did you know water jogging burns 476 calories? Or that water polo torches 660? Read on to find out how other water sports like surfing and kayaking stack up—you may be surprised.

The Wheel Deal: 2 Workouts To Build Bigger, Stronger Legs -

Na its not overuse, just a different form of stressing the muscle. Legs are pretty adaptable, they can handle everything from high reps (you stand/walk/jump with them for almost every minute of the day), and can also use heavy resistance on them every day as well, so 2 times a week of intense training isn't going to harm them in the least. That being said, that looks like it'd take a pretty long time to complete the workout, and I'm not really a fan of keeping the same weight and doing the same amount of reps throughout several sets, at least he does a drop set for the final set, but legs do benefit from some higher-rep and higher-set work, helps build those striations you see in well defined legs.

Front and Center Forearm Workout

If your forearms are severely less developed than your upper arms you might want to train them twice per week. Another way to give the forearms a boost in size is to avoid using wrist straps as much as possible in your back training, so the forearms are forced to squeeze the bar or dumbbells harder in order to hold the weight. Finally, if you are truly a glutton for punishment, try performning the below exercises as one “giant set.” If that does not freak out your forearms, nothing will .

Super [Set] Man

Ever the student, Arnold continually honed his skills, applying the same rigorous discipline to his gym work as he later would to his film and political careers. Just as important, he was fearless (another common Schwarzenegger theme) in his training. While many of his bodybuilding peers were content to follow the staid dictums that had been laid out decades earlier with blind obedience, Arnold always looked for ways to up the intensity. During the early to mid-1960s, at the start of his competitive career, he followed a rudimentary training plan that had been designed for him by the elder bodybuilders at the gym in Austria where he first trained. The routine was basic and sound enough, but not the kind that would turn a small-town Austrian kid into a world-class success. As his own development surpassed that of his mentors, Arnold realized that without finding ways to increase the intensity of his workouts he’d probably end his career being known only for having won the Mr. Europe title.

5 Ways To Get Fit With Group Workouts -

When training at home, one daunting question of self-doubt has no doubt come into your head: "Am I doing this right?" Well, it's hard to know how good your squat is if you don't have a giant mirror and no one is there to check your form! Of course, you can always pay extra for a personal trainer, but group fitness classes can be very helpful—and the price is often included in most gym memberships. A good instructor watches all participants throughout the class to make sure their workout is safe and effective. The instructor should also have fitness training and a certification under their belt, and it's not a bad thing to ask them about it, either. With your instructor's guidance, and by watching their moves closely, you can often get a safer, more effective workout than you would on your own.

4 Moves to Increase Your Back Width

Wide grip pullups are absolutely essential to developing an impressively wide back. They are more lat intensive than their normal grip counterpart. To perform wide grip pullups grasp the pullup bar wider than shoulder width, and make sure to come all the way down on each rep. Use muscle intention to really feel your lats doing the work. Pull yourself all the way up so that the pullup bar is at around chest level. Do these strict (no swinging, go all the way down and all the way up.) Once you can do 10 strict wide grip pullups, start adding weight. Do 5 sets to failure in this exercise.

Joel Stubbs' 6 Tricks For Delt Growth

1. Don’t shy away from machine work if you’re a beginner or coming back from a break. This helps you re-establish that important mind-muscle connection so you can be stronger when you return to your bread-and-butter free-weight lifts. 2. Never skip your warm-up. Besides always using strict form, getting blood flowing to your shoulders before your heavy work is the absolute best way to avoid injury. Mofe than that, you can use more weight – substantially more weight – if you’re well warmed up first. For me, I start with a whole-body warm-up followed by lighter isolation exercises before moving on to presses. 3. Ego doesn’t belong in shoulder training because of the nature of the joints, and pre-exhausting your delts is a good way to take ego out of the equation. I frontload my workout with single-joint moves so that I don’t need – and couldn’t handle – as much weight when I get to my presses. It’s about breaking down muscle, not how much weight you can move. 4. Higher rep ranges seem to work best for me.

Hint: you’ll quickly find women are not much different than men.

Lift Big: The Best Assistance Exercises

"While standing on a 5/8 sheet of plywood where the weights would be touching the floor and you would be standing 5/8" higher than usual. 1-3 sheets of plywood gets the bar lower to the floor and provides a deeper deadlift. If plywood is not available use either a bunch of 25 or 35lb plates on the bar instead of 45lb plates. These smaller plates keep the bar lower to the floor so you have to work harder in the bottom position of the deadlift to get it up."
