Sagittarius Horoscope for Monday, August 8, 2016

Monday, August 8, 2016 - Rediscovering your life purpose takes precedence today, whether it's more of the same or an entirely different ballgame. In either case, your legendary visionary outlook inspires others to tell you their dreams. The good news is you have a clear sense of who you are, a viable plan in place and feel as if nothing can stand in your way now. Just remember to take it slowly or you will expend so much energy that you won't have any later on when you need it for a second wind. As President Theodore Roosevelt wrote, "With self-discipline, most anything is possible."

Bodybuilder's Guide to BCAAs

Before creatine, arginine and whey protein ranked supreme as popular bodybuilding supplements, the branched-chain amino acids were the hot ticket for bodybuilders. Today, BCAAs are back on the must-have list of supplements because bodybuilders have found that they work well to enhance muscle growth, strength, energy and even fat loss. If you’re not using them, here’s your guide to why you should.

Top 10 Moves for Fast Pec Growth

This article has a very simple purpose - to discuss my favorite exercises for building a massive, thick, gnarly, complete chest . I am not going to talk about techniques, tempos, and  time under tension , or mention muscle origins, insertions, genetics or hormonal manipulations. I simply want to go over my top 10 pec-punishers and why they should be a part of your chest building program.

7 Curls for Bigger Biceps

To develop an impressive set of biceps you need to target the muscles from every angle. That’s right, we said muscles. The biceps brachii (long and short heads), as well as the medial head and brachioradialis (forearm) must all receive some (tough and exhausting) love in order for you to achieve attention-grabbing guns. How do you do that? With proper exercise selection and rotation, and consistently altering things like rep speed, weights used, and sets completed.

5 6 Moves for Sick Lats

Pullups are not easy – the mechanical advantage is poor even in when you are in good position. Cheating them, while a fair thing to do on the last rep or two of each set, will not improve your long-term strength or size. Since the lats are a large muscle group that needs to be hit from different angles, you need to use a full range of motion across a variety of exercises. Pullups also require the contribution of dozens of smaller, contributing muscles which is good news – it means that consistent training will lead to rapid strength gains in the short term and more total muscle gains down the road.

6 The 6 Worst Exercises for Heavy Lifting

At some point, if you want to build a no-nonsense physique you are going to have to lift some heavy pig iron.As discussed in a previous article, this can be done safely, but only with certain exercises. It all comes down to movement selection—performing the wrong moves can be unsafe and a good way to get acquainted with a local orthopedic surgeon.

Man of Steel: How Henry Cavill Got Superhero-Shredded

Instead, Cavill did something that Twight—a man not easily impressed—would remember forever. He drove his heels into the ground and pushed, his face twisting into an expression that can only come from an outlay of supreme effort, his body working harder than at any time during his entire year of training for the role. And slowly he began to rise out of the hole, grinding his way back up, until he completed the rep. He racked the bar, lifted his head, and opened his eyes... and everything seemed different. Suddenly there was confidence, and elation. But beyond that, there was puzzlement—the eyes of man trying to process a whole new world of possibility.

Top 5 Chests of the 1970's

1. FRANCO COLUMBU : The most remarkable thing about Columbu’s pecs was the cleft between the upper and lower sections, which made it seem as if his outrageously developed upper pecs were completely different muscles (they’re not). The second most remarkable thing was their dimensions from side to side and top to bottom. The Sardinian stood only 5'5", but his pecs would’ve been at home on 6'5" Ferrigno. The breadth of Columbu’s pecs was a genetic gift aided by his wide clavicles, but their thickness came from thousands of sets on flat and incline benches. At under 200 pounds, the former powerlifter and two-time Mr. O (1976, 1981) bench pressed 525, and his frequent chest workouts emphasized the barbell basics. He credits barbell bench presses and barbell incline presses for building what may have been the best chest ever.

11 Pictures That Show Why 'The Rock' Is A True American Hero

A very special day. Today, I had the pleasure of meeting and spending time with Ms. Ashley Rodriguez from Make-A-Wish. I walked in, walked right over to her and… she started crying, then her mama started crying (in the background), then dammit I almost cried, but everyone was watching so I held it together 'cause I'm tough as nails😂. We hung out, ate some lunch together and chatted about all the cool things we have in common – our love for pizza, our fear of spiders (don't tell anyone Rock's afraid of spiders;) and our love for our dogs. As a matter of fact Ashely loves animals so much that she wants to be a veterinarian one day which is awesome – she'd make an amazing vet! Took lots of selfies, laughed a ton, gave her a few gifts and then we wrapped up our visit. Ashley, you made my heart full today and I'm such a lucky guy to have been able to spend time with you. You stay strong, stay awesome, keep smilin', enjoy the gift and always keep lovin' pepperoni pizza. And I'll do the same! Lastly, I want to thank everyone who made Ashley's and her family's trip possible.

6 Things You Should Never Do Before a Workout

There have been hundreds of articles written about how to best prepare for a killer workout, discussing everything from what to eat, which supplements to take , and how to get your mind “right.” However, with this piece I decided to take a different approach and talk about some of the things you should AVOID doing before pushing and pulling the heavy iron . Ready? Here we go.

Fat Loss Mistakes (and How to Lose Weight For Good)

Weight training is designed to provide faster results with less time in the gym. Not only do you have to work out fewer times per week (you’d be shocked what you can do in just 3-4 workouts per week) you’ll also have shorter sessions. That’s because intensity is much more important than duration for eliminating fat. So you can spend a fraction of the time in the gym and still kiss your tummy good-bye. In fact, research has shown that 8 to 12 minutes of intense intervals can burn as many calories as 25 to 30 minutes of constant moderate exertion exercise. Does that mean you only need to exercise for 8 to 12 minutes to see your abs? Unfortunately, no. But don’t be surprised when you spend less time on the cardio machines, pick up a few dumbbells, have less time in the gym and suddenly don’t even recognize your own body.

The Truth About the 7-Minute Workout

Another issue is that these exercises are all bodyweight moves. That’s not to say bodyweight exercise can’t be effective. I’ve seen enough crazy YouTube videos to know that bodyweight moves does a body good. And they are also extremely convenient for anyone without access to a gym. But the greatest benefit of high intensity training—not to mention the circuit training study mentioned–wasn’t performed with bodyweight exercises; they were done with added resistance, says Schoenfeld, where the weight could be manipulated to correspond to a given rep-max. (In other words, a percentage of your max strength.) The use of bodyweight does not afford this benefit, and for those who are fairly fit it would be difficult to achieve a consistent maximum level of intensity for 30 seconds that would compare to doing a similar length of time with added resistance. To use the squat example: Doing 80% of your 1-rep max on squats for a similar period of time would be much more difficult than doing 7-minutes of bodyweight squats.

Stop Lying About Your Overhead Press | T Nation

The tucked hip position and core bracing intrinsic to rollouts are essentially a horizontal version of an overhead press pattern. The Best Bodyweight Exercises for Your Chest

If you're looking to make your pecs pop, you probably think you need a barbell or, at least, some heavy dumbbells. But, that's not just not the case. There are plenty of great moves you can do without any equipment at all—and some that can be done using your own bodyweight and a TRX or band. While these exercises are great for attacking your chest—the pectorals major and minor—they'll also help get your deltoids, triceps, abs, and more muscles in on the action.  In other words, the following moves, courtesy of Andia Winslow , Professional Athlete, Sports Performance Coach, and Founder of Winslow Way Conditioning, will help you get that chest you'll want to show off on the beach this summer—and carve the rest of your body. Combine them for the ultimate Chest Day bodyweight workout. Or, sprinkle a few in to your total body routine.

Build Muscle Mass While Preventing Joint Damage

Bodybuilding is all about mass: building more muscle mass means lifting more mass in the gym. No bones about it, you must train heavy to get huge. Just take a look at the poundage hoisted by some of the sport’s biggest pros, such as Ronnie Coleman, Markus Rühl and Dorian Yates. These guys train hard and heavy and it shows. The irony of training with a lot of mass to put on muscle mass is that it has the opposite effect on joints. Lifting heavy weights actually reduces the mass of cartilage.

47
Test Your Limits with the Ring Dip

The most important aspect of a successful ring dip is getting a full range of motion. In the bottom position, try to get your biceps to touch the tops of the rings. In the top position, make sure both arms are fully locked out and tight to your sides. Because the rings want to drift outward, your pecs have to work harder to maintain an upright position here. Keep your core tight the whole time to avoid form deviations that could lead to injury.
