Ronnie Coleman - No Regrets

“Getting in my last workout before my surgery tomorrow. Never take life for granted, Never. Training is my life, my hobby, it's who I am, and it represents me. If this was my last workout and I'm never ever able to train again because God called me home, I can say my life was fulfilled because I did it doing what I always love doing the most, Training. Thanks to all people in the world all over the world who wished me luck for tomorrow especially my frat brothers current Mr. Olympia @philheath and current 212 Mr. Olympia Flex Lewis. The way I see it, I went to war all eight of those years I won those Olympia's. These surgeries are just proof of the war wounds I suffered so it's all good because I'm still alive. @rcssdirector once told me one day because I was in so much pain that I needed to slow my ass down and see a Dr. I replied to him that I was gonna roll with this pain until the wheels roll off and that's exactly what I did, made all my appearances until there was absolutely no cartilage left in my hips, and when it was impossible to walk I grabbed some sticks and on long distances I grabbed me a chair.

The 6-Week Fat Blast Workout Routine

Losing fat and taking your body fat percent down is not as easy task. You’re going to need a great support team to help you stay on track. Make sure to get enough quality sleep per night to ensure you can recovery well in between workouts – shoot for 7-9 hours per night. Drink plenty of water spaced throughout the day and prepare healthy snacks just incase you’re out and get hungry. Remember, diet plays more of a role in fat loss than high intensity workouts. I’ll end by rephrasing a quote I read from fitness great Adam Bornstein: “Eat for the body you want, not for the body you currently have.”

The Big 25

Add the farmer’s walk to your cardio regimen. Hold moderate to heavy dumbbells at your sides with your abs pulled and take long strides, walking until you can no longer grip the dumbbells. Rest 90 seconds each time you fail and then go again, striding for 10-20 minutes total. This gives you the calorie burning of cardio while increasing your grip and core strength.

8
Kevin English’s Off-Season Arm Routine

He’s a huge proponent of ignoring the scale because he thinks too many bodybuilders get caught up in numbers. “Doing it this way depends on your goals and metabolism and how you absorb carbs and fats. You see a lot of nutritionists putting people on a standard contest diet, but everyone reacts differently to foods and the scheduling of those foods,” English says, “so you have to constantly assess your own physique.” His cardinal rule for dieting is eating a meal every 2.5 hours, paying particular attention to the one eaten post-workout, a time when your body is in an anabolic state. Off-season, however, his rules are very fluid. He eats only four meals a day with a couple of not-so-healthy snacks in between. With a laugh, he admits that he sometimes eats half a coffee cake for one snack and saves the other for later.

5 Fast Bodyweight Workouts For Weight Loss

Outside of sheer convenience, there are other reasons to add this type of training in to your routine: “Bodyweight workouts are great if you want to give your body a rest from heavy lifting or just to switch your program up,” says Rodocoy. While great for bulking up quickly, heavy lifting isn’t exactly gentle on your muscles and joints. So, a little low impact work—that still gets you serious results—can ensure you stay injury-free and healthy.  So You're Thinking About Having A Cheat Day >>>

17
Whole Eggs vs. Egg Whites

When you’re seeking protein and nutrients on a low-carb diet, choose whole eggs over egg whites. Whole eggs are still a very low-calorie food, despite the fact that they contain more calories from fat than they do from protein. Keep in mind that dietary fats slow protein absorption, allowing it to stay with you for longer. Whole eggs also have a better amino acid profile to help support bodybuilding results. When your goal is to get in protein quickly, choose egg whites, but at all other times of day go with whole eggs, or mix whole eggs with egg whites to provide a broader range of nutrients. - FLEX

The Top 10 Meat Proteins

Chicken breasts are the classic lean muscle building protein. Don’t get stuck in the monotony of eating bland baked chicken breasts day in and day out. You can shred cooked chicken breast with two forks and toss it in a vinegar-based/East Carolina style BBQ sauce for a brand new flavor without extra calories. Another option is tossing a couple chicken breasts in a Ziploc bag with balsamic vinegar and fresh rosemary the night before you are going to cook it for an easy and essentially calorie free marinade.

The Ultimate Conditioning Workout

When was the last time you trained like an athlete ? Or, for that matter, looked like one? For a great many reading (and the one writing) this, the answer lies somewhere a decade or more in the past when catching, running, throwing, tackling and sprinting were par for the course most days of the week. Your days on the field or court over, most simply retreat to the comforts of the weight room, toggling the switch to maintenance mode. But lifting for lifting’s sake isn’t exactly as inspiring as hardcore conditioning that builds shredded muscle and goal-line strength. It’s time to get back to building physiques that are as much “go” as they are “show.”

Dana White Tweets Ronda Rousey's 'Unique Ab Workout'

UFC President Dana White has been busy promoting UFC 195, which will be headlined by women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey , who will defend her belt against surprise opponent Holly Holm. Before the announcement of the fight last week, it was thought that Miesha Tate would get a third crack at the champ, but instead it was Holm who got the shot. Holm has an extensive boxing background, but whether she has the overall MMA game to cause Rousey any real problems on January 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas remains to be seen.

23
Go Nuts for Protein and Healthy Fats

Increased consumption of nuts may support satiety. No matter the reason you’re trying to cut body fat—for health, a bodybuilding show, a photo shoot, or just to look better naked—regular consumption of pistachios and other tree nuts may be a smart snack for your waistline. Pistachios and other nuts contain healthy fats along with protein and fiber, which may help keep you satisfied longer.

24
On Trial: Front Barbell Shrugs vs. Behind-the-Back

For balanced traps developed from all angles, include both versions in your trap-training program. To build bigger/higher upper traps, the barbell shrug to the front is the winner. To build thicker traps and to hit the middle portion of them, the behind-the-back barbell shrug is a better choice.

The Best Workout Ever, According to Science

It seems like every other week there’s a new study touting the best way to work out. And, really, how you do it depends a lot on your goal—someone looking to gain muscle mass may hit the gym differently than someone training for a triathlon. A few specific trends have emerged in recent years regarding working out for general fitness, and more specifically how to elicit the optimal metabolic response—that “afterburn” effect of continued calorie consumption for up to 48 hours after a session—e.g., the biggest bang for your effort and time. What the studies have in common: taking a circuit approach to resistance training, using heavy-but-manageable loads, alternately working multiple muscle groups, and rotating through the exercises with little or no rest in between.

The Food That's as Healthy as Exercise and Quitting Smoking

We've told you all about how  exercise is great for your heart  while  smoking  is... not so much. You also probably know that too much sodium is a no-go and though certain types of alcohol are good for your heart, it's only in small amounts (too much has the opposite effect.) But, the findings of this new study was news to us: Eating plenty of protein-rich foods (packed with amino acids) might be just as good as taking up running, and ditching salt, booze, and cigs.  25 Reasons Running is Better Than the Gym >>> Researchers from the University of East Anglia looked at data from TwinsUK (a database of UK adult twins), and compared the impact of seven different amino acids (found in plant and animal protein) on heart health. The people who ate the most amino acids had lower blood pressure and "arterial stiffness" (a measure of the elasticity of your arteries which, when less stiff, makes it easier for your heart to get blood pumped throughout your body.) However, more research is needed to understand exactly why amino acids have this beneficial effect."Increasing intake from protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, dairy produce, beans, lentils, broccoli and spinach could be an important and readily achievable way to reduce people's risk of cardiovascular disease," lead researcher Dr.
