It’s not the best way to build muscle, but it is the best way to injure yourself. The ideal muscle-building range is eight to 10 reps. Somebody asks me every day how to get a bench up, and I’m an honest guy with an honest answer. “I say, ‘I don’t train for strength, so it doesn’t matter to me if I bench three plates or five.’ I might come in next week and do only three plates. Can You Get Too Much Protein? Part II

We have other reasons for our recommendations, too. One of them is pretty basic: You're most likely taking supplements (branched-chain amino acids, beta-ecdysterone) that boost protein synthesis, but if you don't have a well of protein for your muscles to draw on, those supplements aren't going to do much. Another reason is because there's evidence that eating protein can keep you lean. For one thing, it's the hardest macronutrient for your body to digest, which means your body has to use more energy (calories) to break it down. Protein also increases the amount of a hunger-blunting peptide called PYY in your bloodstream, meaning you won't be hankering for munchies soon after eating a high-protein meal.

His height and structure MAY work against him when lined up next to shorter competitors though. I believe it's been said that most Olympia finishers range about 5'6 - 5'9, with Yates (5'10), Coleman (5'11) and Haney (6') listed as falling in the taller range. Phil has plenty of structural deficiencies though, and all the SEO he might fill himself up with (ALLEGEDLY!) isn't going to change his narrow clavicles, how narrow he looks in certain poses, and of course his ever decreasing separation and crispness with each passing contest. Does Ced have the tools to upset the apple cart (top 5? top 3?!),.. I would say yes, but there are other factors at play here. Still, I don't think the majority of fans would have any problems with Ced stepping up and finally being hailed as one of the top tier guys.
