The Single Biggest Diet Mistake | T Nation

Everything from a nutritional standpoint starts in the gut. The gut contains somewhere around 100 trillion organisms, a number so huge you can't wrap your mind around it. This is why an "if it fits your macros" approach has shortcomings. Just because you can fit refined foods into your diet doesn't mean it's as good as one that creates a healthy environment for said food to be processed optimally.

Because here's the reality: While very few of us will get paid to be a musclebound barbarian on camera, almost everyone will face the daily battles against heavy objects—toting carry-on luggage into the overhead bin, hefting a bag of dog food into the truck, or helping your buddy carry that overstuffed recliner up three flights of stairs to his new apartment.

ALA is naturally found in small amounts in muscle meats, heart, kidney, liver, etc., but needs to be supplemented for it to work as a GDA. The plain ALA version should be dosed at a range of 600-900 mg per day (mostly following exercise just before a carb-heavy meal), while general recommendations for R-ALA are half that. It can be taken a few times a day before meals with carbs or all at once after a workout with your post-workout meal.

Emergency Shred: 2-Week Workout to Get Shredded

This two-week program mandates the use of heavy compound exercises to start every weight workout. By keeping heavy training in your program, you’ll force your body to keep its natural production of growth hormone (GH). High GH, which peaks while you sleep, is a key player in the fat-burning process. Then, by targeting individual body parts with Tabata-style work, you’ll increase local blood flow to working muscles. On each Tabata exercise, start with a weight you can handle for 12–15 reps. As the work drags on, your rep counts will fade. Pause only when needed, and perform partial reps if necessary to keep going the entire 20 seconds.

We took her to one of the most hardcore weight rooms in the world, Metroflex Gym in Long Beach. Her warm-up was swinging hammers, flipping tires, and heavy squats. Without batting an eyelash, she confidently walked through the throng of bodybuilders to get to the free weights. She didn’t just belong in this gym, she owned this gym. Sagittarius Horoscope for Wednesday, September 7, 2016

Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - You might believe you're unstoppable now that your life is moving forward again. Ironically, an illusory Venus-Neptune alignment infuses you with dreams of a fairy tale romance, while a steadfast Venus-Saturn connection simultaneously encourages common sense. Think before acting on your feelings or you will find yourself untangling the emotions of a messy situation. Nevertheless, success in your current endeavors is likely as long as you don't have outrageous expectations. A moment of thought prevents many moments of regret.

Fitness, Diet, Form: 6 Questions Answered

It could be a lack of mobility or lower-back strength, or how your body is proportioned. If it’s the latter, the exercise might not be for you—and that’s OK. Every exercise doesn’t work with every body type. However, if you struggle to get into the conventional deadlift position with a neutral spine and it’s a mobility issue, try different deadlift variations: Trap-bar deads, rack pulls, and sumo deadlifts are all options. Additionally, focusing on hip mobility, core stability, and practicing the hip-hinge pattern will help “grease the groove” and improve the range of motion in your hips. Now, if you struggle to maintain a neutral spine once you start the lift, it’s probably due to a weak trunk. Good mornings, back extensions, dead bugs, and slow mountain climbers can help strengthen the lower back and anterior core. Also, all of those exercises make you maintain a neutral spine while you flex and extend your hips—all required during a deadlift.

Plasmajet

Nitric Oxide (NO) is one of the most powerful muscle building compounds in the human body, so it’s no surprise that countless products claim to be able to offer increased levels. While it’s true that many of these products will boost NO levels, the truth is that none of them are able to do so to such an extent that you notice increased size and strength like we’d expect…until now. PLASMAJET® is a one-of-a-kind NO revolution that places the power for maximal hypertrophic growth firmly in YOUR hands!

6 Techniques to Build Your Dream Physique Fast

The biggest difference between how my amateur and pro clients use these multipliers is how many they employ in one workout. An amateur might use one of these techniques in a workout, but pros use several techniques in a workout, such as partials, negative reps, and flexing. For the average bodybuilder, I recommend using one multiplier per workout. Over the course of time, incorporate all six of these intensity multipliers in your training to make gains like a pro.

5 Easy Ways to Start Building Bigger Biceps

Want bigger, better biceps ? Then just do barbell curls until you puke. Ha. If only it were that easy. According to some self-professed experts, sometimes it is! But here at M&F , we take a more calculated, scientific approach to training, which helps you reach your full potential with your physique goals. Right near the top of the list of bodyparts that guys want to bring up are the biceps. But curling aimlessly is just as limiting as it sounds.

42
Avoid These Six Mistakes In the Gym

Considering those six rules, here’s an important caveat: just because someone at your gym, or even a pro bodybuilder like me, tells you to do something, that’s no reason to follow his every move. Analyze the advice you receive as you apply it to yourself, and don’t follow a routine or diet endlessly if you’re not seeing tangible results. That’s not to say you should haphazardly switch directions at every sign of a plateau — far from it. But be ready to tweak your approach while evaluating its effects.

Six Shocking Approaches to Shoulder Training

It’s ironic that the shoulder joint is capable of such a wide range of motion and, yet, shoulder training almost always focuses on the same few exercises performed in the same fashion and even the same order: overhead presses, side laterals, rear laterals. Bodybuilders often incorporate a variety of machines and exercises into their back training (which also relies on shoulder joints); however, imagination and innovation frequently fail when it comes to deltoids. If you can’t remember the last time your delts were sore after a workout, the following six approaches will re-energize your shoulder training and revitalize your growth.

Gain 10 Pounds of Muscle in 4 Weeks

The second half of the program is all about maximizing size with slightly higher reps and an emphasis on intensity. Rep ranges move up to 10-12 for most exercises, which is ideal for promoting muscle hypertrophy (growth). Overall volume increases slightly during these two weeks, mainly due to the addition of isolation exercises that you’ll perform before compound movements for your chest, back, shoulders and legs. Called pre-exhaustion, this technique dramatically increases workout intensity. You fatigue the main target muscle with an isolation exercise, then hit it in this fatigued state with a compound move, which if done right will lead to your main muscle failing before assistance muscles give out. (For example, for chest the dumbbell flye hits the pecs directly, so your triceps shouldn’t end up being the weak link and cause the termination of the set during the bench press).

10 Wireless Earbuds You Need to Keep Up With the New iPhone 7

Let's be real: you too will probably make the upgrade to the iPhone 7, and even if they do come with a basic pair of Bluetooth buds, you know they won’t match up to cutting-edge pairs out there. So, we did the research for you and found the best wireless earbuds that'll synch up to your Bluetooth device. Whatever your budget may be, there's a pair for you on this list.  *By wireless, we mean no headphone jack required , because while all of these are Bluetooth-friendly, they still have a couple inches of wire that rests around or behind your neck (with the exception of two).

10 Kettlebell Workouts to Build Your Glutes

In fact, you might get more for your butt-building buck with kettlebells than conventional lifts. “The kettlebell can be hiked back to load the glutes with as much resistance as a deadlift, plus you can rep consecutively without interruption because of the kettlebell’s nature,” says Paul Pivarnik, a personal trainer and Russian Kettlebell certified instructor at New York Health & Racquet Club. “That's the recipe for shredding the glutes!”
