Weights Don’t Hit Back?

Weights Dont Hit BackIf you frequent any MMA forums looking for information about Brock Lesnar and his MMA career then you have no doubt seen this statement: Weights Don’t Hit Back. Many times this statement is made after someone refers to an athletes size or strength. This is often said to discount strength as a non issue when compared to skill.

I don’t know about you but every time I hit the weights the weights indeed hit back, simple physics states that the harder you hit the weights the harder they hit back (Netwon’s 3rd Law of Motion). The fact of the matter is to be the strongest man in any sport you are required to put in more effort than your competition. This effort may be more time a the gym or more time practicing technique or running to build cardiovascular endurance.

It doesn’t matter if you are preparing for a fight in the UFC or preparing for the World’s Strongest Man competition the most important factor is the effort the you put into your sport. You get out what you put in, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. To disregard the effort someone has put into strength training would be unwise for anyone involved in combat sports. A serious competitor never takes for granted the strengths of their competition.

If you leave the gym feeling like the weights have not hit back then maybe it is time you change your workout routine you may want to have a look at some of these hard hitting workouts. And for fun you may want to have a look at some of these videos where the weights hit back with a knock out blow.
